This project came to us as a referral from a contractor who was doing some Marin County remodeling. They noticed the foundation mud sill was rotting away just as the siding was about to go up.
We lifted the house off the foundation to remove the cancerous wood and add new structural framing. A new mud seal was also added to prevent dry rot from happening again. In addition to repairing the completely damaged dry rot structure, we earthquake retrofitted the house. We added new bolts and tie downs to the foundation to stabilize it. It is important to always take that into consideration when repairing a foundation.
